Taktstock, our new distributor in Japan is a relatively new company, but their president, Mr. Goroh Iori and his business partner, Mr. Kazuaki Onaka, have between them more 40 years experience in the high-end audio industry.
They hit the ground running by taking their demonstration set of HRS-130 loudspeakers on a short, but very productive, road trip. Takstock’s first stop was a two-day event at an audio dealer called Audio Gallery abc, in the city of Toyama - a 6 hour drive from Tokyo.
The system comprised:
HRS-130 loudspeakers. Vertere SG-1PKG turntable with Vertere Mystic cartridge. EMT 128 tube phono stage. Esoteric Grandioso range SACD, pre and power amplifiers.
Despite the event being held in the middle of the summer, when most people in Japan have little interest in sitting inside a dark showroom, 35 visitors attended the event. Several visitors were long-time customers of the dealer, and their opinion was that this was one of the three best sounding events in the dealer's 35-year history. Taktstock’s Mr. Iori told us: "Many of the visitors said that the sound was natural, and that the HRS-130 was a great speaker for all genres of music, not only classical and vocal music, but also rock, jazz, and pop music." The ultimate proof of the success of this event is that Audio Gallery abc is now a German Physiks dealer and will shortly have their own set of HRS-130 loudspeakers and one of the visitors to the event will soon be the proud owner of a pair of German Physiks Carbon Mk IV loudspeakers. This is the next model up from the HRS-130.
