Emperor Electronics Range Rollout Continues

Three down, three to go

Firstly we would like to welcome all the new subscribers to our newsletter.

This year continues to be a busy one for us. Our Emperor Preamplifier, Emperor Stereo and Emperor Mono power amplifiers are now shipping and the Emperor Integrated amplifier, which is the preamplifier and stereo power amplifier combined in one chassis, is not far behind. These products are all aimed very firmly at the top end of the market and provide exceptional sound performance, with a luxurious standard of construction. The leading German audiophile magazine Audio now uses German Physiks Emperor electronics as the reference for all their reviews.

Also nearing completion is the Emperor DSP-X digital crossover, seen here undergoing tests in our factory. The hardware is complete and we are just refining the user-interface. The DSP-X will be supplied as standard with our Gaudi Mk III (coming next year), Emperor Mk II and Loreley Mk III models, as these are now only available as active loudspeakers.

The DSP-X will be an option for our PQS-402 and PQS-302 loudspeakers, which will be available in both active and passive versions.

The DSP-X can also be programmed to work with other 2 or 3-way loudspeakers, provided we can be supplied with the crossover characteristics required.

Also due for release later this year will be our Emperor CD player. They say that CD players are dead, but apparently not in China, which is where most of these will be going. It will use the same style of chassis as the other Emperor components and will be a top loader featuring a CD mechanism that our designers are building themselves. The top loading mechanism will have an interesting twist and hopefully we will have a video of this for you later.

A seventh product for the range is also under consideration. More news on this later.

Last but not least in our electronics news, we are working on some products with streaming capability, but we will keep more details of these for another newsletter.

PION Cable Update

PION power cables now shipping

Our PION power cables are now shipping. Each conductor has a central, insulated, solid iron strand, which increases its inductance and so provides a degree of high frequency noise filtering. To the best of our knowledge this design is unique. The cable is 18.5mm (about 0.77”) in diameter and is relatively flexible, making it easy to use. It is also quite light, so it won’t over-stress the IEC inlets on equipment it is connected to. In the past we have seen instances of IEC inlets being broken by the use of heavy power cables. Full details of the PION power cable are now on the German Physiks web site.

We now have the PION loudspeaker and interconnect cables in bulk stock in our warehouse. We are presently evaluating RCA and XLR connectors from a number of sources and will start shipping cables when we have decided which connectors provide the best results. We will post news of this on our web site and our Facebook page.
